What is Nioh 3?
Nioh 3 is Team NINJA's "Dark Sengoku Action RPG," built around open-field exploration and a two-style combat system. You fight yokai across dangerous regions where freedom of movement coexists with sudden, lethal threats—and the ever-present pressure of the Crucible.
Two Combat Styles (Switch Tactics, Not Characters)
You can master two distinct styles and swap tactics depending on the moment:
Samurai Style
In Nioh 3, Samurai Style is a head-on style focused on breaking defenses using powered Martial Arts via Arts Proficiency, and clutch defense with Deflect (precise guarding that restores Ki and builds gauges). It also retains core Nioh 3 fundamentals like Ki Pulse and stance switching.
Ninja Style
In Nioh 3, Ninja Style is a fast, evasive style built for mobility, aerial actions, and Mist—a technique unique to Nioh 3 that can briefly divert an enemy's attention right after attacking. Successful evades can also restore Ki and refill gauges, rewarding clean movement.
Nioh 3 Demo Guide
The Nioh 3 demo is designed to be a substantial early slice of the game and supports solo or up to 3-player online co-op. Your Nioh 3 save data can carry over into the full game.
How long is the Nioh 3 demo?
Actual completion time varies a lot based on exploration and deaths, so it's best presented as "varies by playstyle" instead of a fixed hour number. Thorough explorers and those attempting Lesser Crucibles will naturally spend more time.
Limited-time reward: Complete the demo by February 15, 2026 to unlock the Twin-Snake Helmet in the full game.
Nioh 3 Demo Bosses & Threats
Bloodedge Demon
In the Nioh 3 demo, the Bloodedge Demon is a formidable revenant yokai formed from the malice of defeated revenants. It's not confined to one location—it can appear in different places over time. Defeating it rewards rare Nioh 3 items and the equipment near the bloody grave.
Tip: Treat it like a "high-risk roaming mini-boss." If you're under-leveled, mark the location and come back later.
